Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger could not fault the quality in his side after they smashed Southampton 6-1 on Saturday.

Low point

Wenger admits the way in which Arsenal conceded Southampton's only goal was a low point in an otherwise impressive display, with an error from goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny allowing Danny Fox to lash home. The manager added: "(It was) disappointing, especially the way we conceded it. "We know we concede goals at some stage but we don't want it to be the way we did it." Summer signing Olivier Giroud, who came off the bench with 15 minutes remaining, is yet to open his Gunners account but Wenger is confident the striker will find his scoring touch in time. "A goal for Giroud is missing yes, but it will come," he said. Arsenal travel to Montpellier in their opening UEFA Champions League group game on Tuesday and Wenger was pleased they did not have to work too hard for a win ahead of that clash. He added: "The fact that we didn't absolutely have to dig deep is important."
