The French striker has stressed that Arsenal's main objective this season was always to finish in the top four of the Premier League.
But, despite the fact that their own fate is no longer in their hands with Everton two points clear in fourth, Giroud believes victory in their last five games of the season will see them into the top four.
"The No.1 objective of the season is to be in the Champions League next season and then, winning a trophy, even if the club has been waiting for a long time," he told L'Equipe.
"If you think the worst can happen, you have more chances to have doubt. We were in quite the same situation last year. We were under pressure. But we achieved a great finish.
"Now we have six finals remaining to play, five in the Premier League and one in the cup.
"If we don't make any mistakes in the Premier League, we will get our ticket for the Champions League."
Giroud himself was the subject of criticism from some Arsenal fans following their recent loss at Everton, but he refused to take it too seriously.
He added: "I spoiled my match. It can happen in a season. I thought about it, I criticised myself and went back to work.
"But a bad performance against Everton? I was not alone. The whole team failed in that match. That is not news, as a forward when everything is fine you are adulated, but when you can't score..."
