The Selhurst Park club slapped a £6million price tag on the highly-rated custodian, after Aston Villa boss Graham Taylor saw Davis as an ideal replacement for Manchester City-bound keeper Peter Schmeichel.
The Dons have been aware that they may find it difficult to hold on to Davis over the long term but are also not in any rush to cash in on him either.
Davis appeared in 40 matches this season for the South London outfit and his performances took Wimbledon to within three places of the Division One promotion play-offs.
Meanwhile, Toffees striker Tomasz Radzinski scored two goals for Canada in a 3-1 friendly victory Switzerland in St. Gallen on Wednesday.
It was Radzinski first goals at international level since January 1996, when he scored in a 4-1 defeat to Brazil in the Football Confederation Gold Cup in the United States.
