The 21-year-old picked up severe bruising on his fibula in his Toffees debut on the club's Scottish tour at Third Division side Queen's Park last week.
He collided with John Gemmell during the friendly at Hampden Park and was taken to hospital with initial fears of a broken leg.
The injury was not as serious as first thought but the African has since been unable to resume full training and Moyes is concerned with his slow progress in terms of recovery, with fears that he may have a hairline fracture on his fibula.
Having joined the Goodison Park club in an initial £1 million move French side Marseille earlier this month, Yobo could be facing a race to be fit for Everton's season-opener at home to Tottenham Hotspur on August 17.
Meanwhile, Moyes faces another nervous wait over striker Duncan Ferguson, who is to see a specialist over a long-standing back problem after sitting out Monday's 2-2 friendly draw at Scottish Premier League side Hibernian.
