Yobo had delayed talks over moving to Everton permanently whilst he changes his agent, but has now opened negotiations to leave Marseille.
The powerful defender has been impressive for David Moyes's side since arriving on loan from l'OM, and has insisted that he is keen to remain at Goodison Park.
It now appears that the Nigerian will tie up a deal to make his stay in The Premiership a permanent one, with Marseille likely to receive around £3 million for the player.
Early indications suggest that Everton have offered the player a one-year deal with an option for four more if things go well for both parties.
