The Suffolk outfit are looking for a new shot-stopper after releasing Andy Marshall and Joe Royle has expressed an interest in his former charge, who spent time on loan at Portman Road this season.
"Joe has noted an interest in Paul Gerrard," confirmed Everton manager David Moyes.
Royle has also dismissed reports linking Pablo Counago with a return to Spain.
"We have heard nothing from any club regarding Pablo and nor do I want to. He is not one we want to let go," said Royle.
"If a big offer were to come in for him then it is out of my hands but I would want him next season for us."
Meanwhile, The Toffees have secured the futures of six of their younger players.
Everton have offered one-year deals to Kevin McLeod, Sean O'Hanlon, Leon Osman, Alan Moogan, Stephen Schumacher and Michael Symes.
McLeod, on loan at QPR, is yet to sign his deal, but O'Hanlon and Osman have already put pen-to-paper.
Moogan, Schumacher and Symes are all being promoted to the first team squad, having come through the youth ranks.
