The Strum Graz stopper is available on a free transfer and The Toffees are set to see him in action at first hand.
A number of Premiership clubs are known to be keen on Bosnar, a left sided defender - but Everton have now moved to the front of the queue.
Bosnar, 24, began his career in his native Australia with Northern Spirit and Sydney United, before moving to Dinamo Zagreb.
In 2001 he joined Strum Graz in the Austrian Bundesliga, but he is now looking to move to England and could earn a deal with Everton is he impresses manager David Moyes over the next week.
Everton departed for Austria on Saturday and will spend seven days training, before playing Serbian outfit FK Zeleznik in their opening pre-season encounter.
