Grazer AK have confirmed that Fulham have made a firm bid for Rene Aufhauser.Austrian Bundesliga outfit Grazer AK have confirmed that Fulham have made a firm bid for midfielder Rene Aufhauser.
The Austria international is also believed to be interesting both Everton and Middlesbrough but The Cottagers have now decided to put money on the table.
Aufhauser is rated in the £2 million bracket by his club, who will inform Fulham within a fortnight whether their bid is acceptable.
Ç£We have been asked to make a final decision within the next 14 days,Ç¥ GAK general manager Hannes Weninger revealed on Saturday.
Weninger refused to reveal the sum being offered for Aufhauser but added that he would spend the next few days talking to both the player and Fulham to find a solution agreeable to all parties.
Ç£We don't want to lose him but Rene has already told us that he would love to accept an offer giving him the chance to play in the Premier League,Ç¥ he added.
Fulham's move for Aufhauser will now force Boro and Everton to decide whether to step up their own interest in the 28-year-old, who scored the only goal against Wales in a World Cup qualifier in Vienna in March.
He also played twice against Boro in the Uefa Cup for Grazer AK and will be hoping he has the chance to discuss a switch to The Premiership.
Meanwhile, Fulham's bid for Aufhauser has coincided with Senegal midfielder Papa Bouba Diop being linked with Barcelona.
Everton have been mooted as admirers of the powerful African but Barca have now been surprisingly mentioned as suitors, although Fulham boss Chris Coleman has repeatedly stated that Diop is not for sale.
