Sam Allardyce has confirmed his interest in Besiktas' Juanfran.
Bolton Wanderers boss Sam Allardyce has confirmed his interest in Besiktas' Juanfran but denied he wants Bernard Mendy, Fernando Couto and Andy van der Meyde to come to The Reebok Stadium.
The Trotters chief updated the club's official website on the transfer situation whilst in Thailand ahead of the Premier League Asia Trophy final against the Thai national team on Saturday, a match that is live on Sky Sports.
Juanfran is viewed as a left-sided option for Allardyce but he does not want to follow up any interest in former defender Mendy, Couto and van der Meyde.
"We are interested in signing Juanfran on a 12-month loan," stated Allardyce.
"It will come down to the financial package and the fitness levels of the player on whether the deal can be progressed."
Van der Meyde is being linked with a move to Everton, along with Internazionale team-mate Edgar Davids, in a double deal.
Meanwhile, Mexican striker Jared Borgetti has arrived in Bolton for his medical ahead of his proposed switch to England.
