Per eyeing Toffees return

Everton defender Per Kroldrup is eyeing his Premiership debut.

Everton defender Per Kroldrup is pleased with how his recovery from a hernia injury is progressing and is now eyeing his Premiership debut.

The £5 million capture is yet to play a competitive game for The Toffees as he has frustratingly watched the Merseysiders slip to the foot of the table from the sidelines.

Kroldrup has missed the last six weeks of action and is hoping to play as soon as possible, but the Denmark international is not setting a date for his return.

"Everything is coming along right now and I am happy with the way things are going," Kroldrup told the Liverpool Echo.

"It has not been easy to see what has been going on, so it has been a long six weeks that I have been out. I have got to prove my fitness but I am very eager to play again.

"I just want to wait and see, and take things one day at a time. I have not played for six weeks so my fitness is not at its maximum but I'm just eager to get going as soon as possible.

"There is no point targeting a date. I just need to get ready and show that I can play a part."
