Toffees move for winger

South African Delron Buckley has joined Everton on trial, skysports.com can confirm.

South African international Delron Buckley has joined Everton on trial, skysports.com can confirm.

The 28-year-old left winger, who can also play as a striker, is currently with Borussia Dortmund - who he joined last summer.

Buckley earned his move to Dortmund after a sensational spell with Arminia Bielefeld - but he failed to make the expected impact at The Signal-Iduna Park, as he was asked to take on a more defensive role.

Tottenham showed an interest earlier this year, but now Everton have made their move and Buckley will be assessed by manager David Moyes over the coming week.

"He is spending the next week at Everton with a view to a deal being done," his business manager Rob Moore told skysports.com.

"This is a great opportunity for Delron, he wants a fresh challenge and the English game will suit him.

"He likes to play a quick style and that is what The Premiership is all about."
