John Williams has insisted that Blackburn are not interested in James Beattie.
Blackburn chairman John Williams has dismissed reports linking Everton striker James Beattie with a move to Ewood Park.
Beattie has not been guaranteed a regular place in the Everton starting XI this term and again started the Boxing Day clash against Middlesbrough on the substitutes' bench.
Speculation had suggested that Beattie could be on his way out of Goodison Park in the January transfer window, and Mark Hughes reportedly enquired about his availability.
However, David Moyes said Beattie was going nowhere following the 0-0 draw with Boro, and Williams has no intention of testing his resolve.
"He (Beattie) is someone else's player, but we have not made any approaches," Williams told the Lancashire Telegraph.
"It's one I think you can forget about."
Morten Gamst Pedersen, meanwhile, continues to be linked with a move to Tottenham, but Williams is adamant that he will remain a Blackburn player.
He explained: "Morten was linked with them back in the summer, but there are absolutely no plans to sell him."
