Brian Laws is not surprised Madjid Bougherra is attracting interest from the Premiership.
Brian Laws is not surprised Sheffield Wednesday defender Madjid Bougherra is attracting interest from the Premiership.
Charlton Athletic had a £1.3million bid for the Algerian rejected last week, and Bougherra has since expressed a desire to talk to the top-flight strugglers.
Everton have also been linked with the centre-half and Owls boss Laws feels the player can make it in the Premiership.
"To be honest, I think there's a lot of Premiership clubs looking at him," Laws told Sky Sports News.
"He has the ability to play in the Premiership. I've seen it and I believe he has the ability to go all the way.
"It doesn't surprise me that a club of Everton's stature is looking at Madjid Bougherra."
But while the 24-year-old wants to discuss a move to The Valley, Laws insists Bougherra will be going nowhere until Wednesday's valuation is met.
He added: "Everybody has a value. It doesn't matter whether you are Manchester United, Newcastle or Sheffield Wednesday.
"Everybody has a price, it's just a matter of getting that right price.
"At the moment Charlton are nowhere near the valuation we believe he is.
"It's been very, very open. Charlton have made a bid for him. It's nowhere near the valuation, so they have to put up or shut up."
