Dave Jones insists Cardiff City have received no approaches for leading scorer Michael Chopra.
The striker, who recently signed a new long-term contract at Ninian Park, has been linked with a summer move to the Premiership.
Everton and Manchester City were mooted as admirers, with Chopra's agent revealing earlier in the week that the 22-goal hit-man has a clause in his contract allowing him to leave, if a top-flight club offer above a specified figure.
But, despite the transfer rumours, Cardiff boss Jones was quick to dismiss the notion of a bidding war between Everton and City.
Jones remains determined to keep hold of the former Newcastle United youngster and has not fielded any enquiries for Chopra.
"I even read one story that Everton and Manchester City are conducting a bidding war over Michael," Jones told the South Wales Echo.
"I don't know who they are in a bidding war with, but it's not Cardiff City.
"We have not had an approach from either of them, or any other club.
"Michael is a Cardiff City player, he has just signed a new contract and clearly we want him to stay."
