Jim Magilton has played down rumours that former Ipswich goalkeeper Richard Wright could be on his way back to the club.
Wright's contract with Everton expires in the summer and he is expected to leave Goodison Park after failing to hold down a regular first team place.
Ipswich-born Wright, 29, made 240 league appearances for Town before joining Arsenal in 2001 and has now been linked with a return to Portman Road.
"It's only speculation but we can't help that. With Richard coming to the end of his contract, it was always likely that he would be linked with a move back here given his history," boss Magilton told the club's website.
"He's an Ipswich lad and everyone knows what he thinks about the club. I had the pleasure of playing with him and when he left we all thought he would move onto bigger and better things but it hasn't worked out for him.
"He is someone I have admired though and you never know what can happen in football. He's a very good player who would certainly enhance the squad we have."
