Everton manager David Moyes admits that he is keen to see Steven Pienaar remain at the club when his loan deal expires.
The South African international is on a season-long loan from German side Borussia Dortmund with the option to seal a permanent switch at the end of the current campaign.
The 26-year-old has impressed at Goodison Park with 15 starts and two goals and has been one the key players in propelling Everton to fourth in the Premier League.
Moyes hopes to retain the services of the midfielder and reveals a fee is already agreed with the German side.
"Obviously we would like to keep him," Moyes told the club's official website.
"We have a deal with Borussia Dortmund to the end of the season so there's not an absolute desperation to do that.
"We are quite comfortable with it at the moment. The fee is agreed."
The former Ajax player failed to make an impact in Germany but Moyes says the presence of other African players has settled him.
"I think he's enjoying himself," Moyes added. "He feels wanted here. He's comfortable with the surroundings.
"It's easier that he has other African players here as well. He would tell you that he's really enjoying his spell here.
"What worried me was that he went to Borussia Dortmund and it didn't happen for him. His stature sometimes gave me the feeling that there was no strength there.
"He went to Germany and didn't feel settled there. Now he feels at home here. We've found similarities with Mikel (Arteta). Both are comfortable on the ball."
