Striker believes team-mates are ready to fire against Reds

Louis Saha is tipping Everton to bounce back from their Carling Cup disappointment when they tackle Liverpool in the Merseyside derby. The Toffees crashed out of the cup on Wednesday following a 1-0 defeat to Blackburn at Ewood Park. David Moyes opted to omit the likes of Aiyegbeni Yakubu and Tim Cahill from his starting line-up, but Saha believes the selected XI failed shine on the night. However, the former Manchester United striker is not getting too down over their cup disappointment and believes his team-mates will be looking to make things right against their Merseyside rivals.

Disappointing

"It was a very disappointing night," he told the Liverpool Echo. "The only positive we can take from the game is a reaction to put it right. "We are determined to do that, as we know we did not play well against Blackburn. "We thought this was a good opportunity to win a trophy, so it is all the more disappointing to have gone out so soon."
Fitness boost
Saha suffered an injury-hit spell at Old Trafford and the France striker was delighted to have played the full 90 minutes against Blackburn. "It was nice to get 90 minutes under my belt," he continued. "I still need some time to adapt but I am quite happy with my fitness. "There were good signs between myself and Yak, but again it is going to take time. The main thing is the team. It's not just about our partnership. We are both just interested in doing our best for everyone here."
