League One round-up: Sheffield United stay five points clear

Sheffield United maintained their five-point lead at the top of Sky Bet League One despite drawing 0-0 at Bristol Rovers.

John Fleck came closest to breaking the deadlock in the 57th minute when his low shot from the edge of the box crashed against a post.

Rory Gaffney thought he had won it for Rovers six minutes from time but his header was ruled out by an offside flag.

United's nearest challengers Scunthorpe failed to take advantage as their winless streak stretched to three games with a goalless draw at home to Walsall.

It could have been worse for the Iron after goalkeeper Luke Daniels was forced to push a Joe Edwards shot against the crossbar.

Filipe Morais scored the only goal as Bolton moved within two points of Scunthorpe with a game in hand after beating Rochdale 1-0.

At the other end of the table, Swindon slipped further into relegation trouble after a fourth straight defeat, 2-1 at Northampton.

Conor McLaughlin's strike nine minutes from time gave Fleetwood a 2-1 win over fellow promotion-chasers Bradford, Devante Cole having drawn them level after Jordy Hiwula's opener.

Second-half goals from Marc-Antoine Fortune and Theo Robinson gave Southend a 2-0 win at Oxford while Paul Robinson's stoppage-time equaliser for AFC Wimbledon denied Coventry a first win in 15 as they drew 1-1 after Jodi Jones' opener.

Goals from Ryan Tafazolli and Dominic Ball guided Peterborough to a 2-1 win over 10-man Shrewsbury, whose goalscorer Stephen Humphrys was dismissed, while Gillingham and Chesterfield drew 1-1 with goals from Max Ehmer and Tom Anderson.
