The Trotters keeper`s superb recent form has led to him retaining the Finnish jersey at the expense of Hearts keeper Anti Niemi.
"He`s improved quicker than anyone I`ve known and now he`s the best goalkeeper in the First Division," Allardyce said.
"I`ll take a lot of satisfaction out of seeing him play against England, because this club has done an awful lot for him."
Jaakelainen joined the Lancashire club for £350,000 three years ago and has been a regular for the last two seasons forcing out long-time number one Keith Branagan.
The 25-year-old keeper kept goal in the Finns` 2-1 victory over Albania in their first qualification game and in their 1-0 defeat to Greece on Saturday and is confident that he will stay number one for a while to come.
"I`ve played well the last two games and if I keep playing well, he can`t get my place," Jaaskelainen said.
