The 23-year-old Jamaican has had a limited chance to impress in the first team, but is working on his fitness and the defensive aspects of his game and believes he is getting better and better.
"The coaches called me in one day and said I was the most fancy player in training," said Johnson - who plays on the wing.
"So I must keep it up and get more fitness.
"It's just the fitness and the work rate. I want to get some more. I want to get in the first team stay in the side and score some goals.
"I'm working hard on it and I just need to keep the fitness going and track back when I need to.
"I think [the defensive aspect] is what's holding me back, but I am working hard on it and its coming on slowly but surely.
"It's me that needs to go out there and work hard and show them that I really want it."
