Glovers to sign Terry

YEOVIL TOWN are poised to bolster their squad with the acquisition of Dagenham & Redbridge midfielder Paul Terry.

The Glovers have teed up a deal with the Conference outfit to bring Terry to Huish Park and merely need to thrash out personal terms with the 24-year-old.

The Conference champions have made an excellent start to life in The Football League and currently top the fledgling Division Three table.

Glovers boss Gary Johnson is refusing to rest on his laurels and wants to bring in Terry - brother of Chelsea defender John - to add depth to his squad.

"I'm delighted to be able to bring Paul to Huish Park for although we have a strong squad in quality we are a little short on the numbers necessary to play in Division Three," said Johnson.

"Paul is a quality midfield player who has represented England in the England National Game XI and will be a great addition to our squad."

Meanwhile, Bolton Wanderers midfielder Jermaine Johnson admits he has no qualms about making the drop down to the Third Division after agreeing to join the Somerset-based club on a month's loan.

Yeovil are waiting for a work permit before completing the deal and the Jamaican international is eager to use his loan spell to boost his prospects at The Reebok Stadium.

He said: "I'm not worried about leaving Bolton to play in the Third Division because I need first team football to get my Premiership place back and Yeovil can help me do that.

"I am excited about playing for them because they are a good team who pass the ball around a lot."
