Bolton boss Sam Allardyce says he will bid to sign Depor defender Cesar this month.Bolton manager Sam Allardyce says he will attempt to bring Spanish defender Cesar to the club on loan during the transfer window.
Allardyce is keen to boost his squad after losing three players - El-Hadji Diouf, Radhi Jaidi and Jay-Jay Okocha - to the African Cup of Nations.
Deportivo La Coruna centre half Cesar, 28, fits the bill, and Allardyce is keen to sign him until the end of the season - and reports from Spain have already suggested that a deal is in place.
"I would like to sign him," said Allardyce after seeing his patched up side win 3-0 in the FA Cup third round at Watford in the absence of seven first team players.
"I played the only 11 senior players that were available today, with the exception of [goalkeeper] Jussi Jaaskelainen, who was rested.
"To play the way we did under the circumstances was fantastic. We needed a good performance from them all, because we had only Academy players on the bench so we could not strengthen the side.

"I don't think it was that easy, but we made it look easy with our excellent play," Allardyce added. "We were expecting a hard, physical challenge, but we dealt with that very well.
"They couldn't get a tempo going, but that was because of the way we kept possession and our success in breaking their offside trap.
"Everyone did very well today - perhaps better than we would have expected - and we hope that continues.
"These players now have the opportunity to play more than they have recently, and if they keep playing like that it well help us in the Premiership as well as in the FA Cup."
