Kevin Davies has called on Bolton to sort out Jussi Jaaskelainen's new contract.
Bolton Wanderers striker Kevin Davies has called on the club to sort out Jussi Jaaskelainen's new contract sooner rather than later.
Jaaskelainen's current deal does not run out until the end of the 2007 season, however, talks over a new deal have stalled, although it is thought the Finn would be happy to stay with the club.
Davies hopes that the club and player can come to an agreement in the near future as they do not want one of their vital components to leave.
"Jussi has been brilliant this season and bailed us out a few times," he said.
"He's been so solid and hopefully something can be sorted out and we can get him signed, I don't know what is going on."
Bolton face West Ham United in the fifth round of the FA Cup at the weekend, with Davies witnessing both the highs and lows of the competition in the past.
Whilst still with Chesterfield, his side went on an unbelievable run which was only halted by Middlesbrough in the semi-final before reaching the final itself with Southampton in 2003, however Davies was told on the day of the game that he would not be involved.
A few months later, Davies was an integral part of a Bolton Wanderers side on the up which sees them in with a real chance of going far in the cup this season.
"It will be a difficult game as West Ham are on a roll but they know it is tough to come here.
"We have a few of our boys back now and are aiming to get through to the next round."
