Jewell denies Jussi talk

Wigan's Paul Jewell has rejected talk linking him with a move for Jussi Jaaskelainen.

Wigan boss Paul Jewell has rejected talk linking him with a move for Bolton's Jussi Jaaskelainen.

Jaaskelainen's future has been the subject of intense speculation with the player yet to sign a new deal at Bolton.

The Finn has just 18 months to run on his present contract and Bolton boss Sam Allardyce has admitted he may have to be sold if he does not agree a new deal.

Wigan have been mentioned as possible suitors of Jaaskelainen, but Jewell insists they have not made any move for the 30-year-old.

"We haven't made a bid for Jaaskelainen or spoken about him," said Jewell.

Bolton are keen to keep Jaaskelainen and are expected to reopen talks over his contract at the end of the season.
