Sam Allardyce heaped praise on Nicolas Anelka after the striker put former club Manchester City to the sword.
The France frontman struck twice in the first half on his return to Eastlands as Bolton maintained their push for a Champions League slot.
It was a repeat of the striker's display earlier in the season when his brace saw off former employers Arsenal.
"It's a pity Nicolas has not played for another 17 teams in the Premiership if that is what he does against his former clubs," said Allardyce.
"He has shown Manchester City what they are missing. If we provide him with the chances, there is nobody better at taking them."
The Bolton boss was also delighted with a moment of brilliance from keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen with the score at 1-0.
The Bolton stopper denied Paul Dickov with a stunning save as City pushed for an equaliser.
"We talk about key moments in games and that was undoubtedly one," added Allardyce.
"When we needed him to, Jussi pulled off a massive save and that is one of the major reasons why we won the game."
