Sam Allardyce has confirmed he would be interested in signing Jlloyd Samuel.
Bolton manager Sam Allardyce has confirmed he would be interested in signing Jlloyd Samuel if the left-back is available in the summer.
Samuel's current contract at Aston Villa is due to expire at the end of the season and signs are the 25-year-old looks set to move on.
Bolton have already been linked with the former England Under 21 international, and Allardyce admits he would consider making a move.
"I don't know what the situation is at the moment but, if a player with his capabilities came available, I'd be interested, yes," Allardyce told Wanderers TV.
Middlesbrough are also thought to be interested and could compete with Bolton for Samuel's signature in the summer.
Meanwhile, Allardyce was unimpressed with El Hadji Diouf's agent Alex Krstic's comments claiming he had spoken to Atletico Madrid about the striker.
"I know Alex Krstic very, very well and he hasn't picked the phone up and told me about Atletico Madrid," said Allardyce.
"You might have just got him (Krstic) in trouble there by saying that - shooting his big mouth off.
The Trotters boss added: "We'll wait and see whether Atletico Madrid are interested because all they have to do is contact us by email, or pick up the phone, or send us a fax.
"If that's the case, and they're interested, make what their interest is into pounds shillings and pence. For those who are not old enough to remember that, it's euros or pounds now.
"If they make a big enough bid, and Diouf tells me he wants to leave, then we'll consider it.
"If they don't make a big enough bid then Diouf will stay here."
