Sammy Lee has denied talk that Wigan have bid for Bolton defender Abdoulaye Faye.Sammy Lee has rejected reports that Wigan Athletic have bid for Bolton Wanderers defender Abdoulaye Faye.
Speculation has claimed that Wigan have offered £1.5million for the Senegal international, who joined from Lens two years ago.
Former Bolton boss Sam Allardyce has also been linked with a bid to take Faye to current club Newcastle United.
Commenting on Wigan's supposed interest in Faye, Trotters manager Lee revealed he has had no contact from his JJB counterpart Chris Hutchings.
"We have not had an offer from Wigan for Abdoulaye Faye," Lee told the club's official website.
"I speak to Chris Hutchings all the time and I know they haven't made an offer for the player."
Faye, who can also play in midfield, has made 71 appearances during his time at The Reebok Stadium, scoring three goals in the process.
