Bolton boss Owen Coyle is hopeful that the injury picked up by Chung-yong Lee is not as bad as first feared after he was stretchered off in a leg brace during the club's pre-season win at Newport County.
Wanderers dominated the game as they came away with a 3-1 victory thanks to a fine brace from Ivan Klasnic and an own goal from Tom Miller.
The Welsh side had taken a shock lead through Elliott Buchanan before the Premier League outfit showed their class at the Newport Stadium.
However, all the worry will be over the South Korean International, who was taken to a local hospital to assess his injury.
Coyle told the club's official website: "We're still waiting for information from the hospital. Once we have that we will let everyone know what the situation is."
As for the game, the manager was pleased that Nigel Reo-Coker, stand-in skipper Zat Knight, Fabrice Muamba, Chris Eagles and Mark Davies were all given a run-out.
"I thought it was a game contested between two very good teams. It was an extremely testing 90 minutes for us," he added.
"We played some fantastic football at times and could have had more than the three goals we did score. We really did show our quality with a strong all-round performance."
Next up for Wanderers' pre-season campaign is a friendly against Hereford United at Edgar Street on Monday night.
