Bolton boss Owen Coyle does not believe his side are out of form heading into the final five games of the season.
The Trotters drew 1-1 with Swansea on Saturday to sit second-from-bottom of the table, four points adrift of safety.
But they have two games in hand over their nearest relegation rivals and Coyle believes they can still beat the drop, starting away at Aston Villa on Tuesday.
He told
Sky Sports News: "To this point, we've taken ten points from our last six games. This is not a team that is out of form, out of sorts.
"This is a team that, with a similar points return in the last five games, will be good enough to keep ourselves in the Barclays Premier League and that is what we must strive to do."
Must improve
But the Bolton boss believes his side must improve on their showing against the Swans when they gave the ball away cheaply at times.
He added: "I think we played in fits and starts. When we passed and moved the ball well as we like to do, then I think we were very effective, resulting in an opportunity to score goals.
"And when we gave the ball away cheaply under no duress, then sometimes against Swansea you can be a long time getting the ball back and that's what happened.
"But I think there were 17 passes in the goal we scored and when we pass and move the ball like that we can cause problems for any opposition and that's what we have to do in the remaining five games."
