The Trotters narrowly missed out on a play-off spot in 2012/13, but collected their first win of the current campaign on Saturday at the 11th time of asking.
Now that they are up and running, Bolton will be expected to kick on and start climbing the standings.
Beckford is convinced that will happen and never doubted that Freedman was the right man to carry them forward - despite intense speculation regarding his future.
The former Leeds United and Leicester City striker said: "It was definitely a boost for the manager but I have complete faith and trust in him.
"I don't think about the other side of it - I don't think it will happen and I don't think it should.
"He is a great guy, a great manager. We haven't been dominated in games, so it's been unfortunate.
"Results are results, but the way we've been playing is really good."
Beckford opened his goal account for Bolton in a 2-1 win at Birmingham City, following a summer switch from Leicester, and he hopes the floodgates have now been opened.
He added: "It's always nice to score as a forward - especially after you've not had one for a while."
