The 26-year-old is out of contract this summer and the news of his availability on a free transfer has alerted a host of clubs.
Stearman has been instrumental in helping Wolves win promotion back to the Championship at the first time of asking this season.
The former Leicester man has enjoyed an outstanding season, helping Wolves secure a club record 24th league clean sheet in last weekend's win over Crewe which secured promotion.
Wolves also have the second-best defensive record in England and their current tally of 25 goals conceded is currently the lowest in the club's 137-year history.
Ipswich are thought to be weighing up a move for Stearman with Mick McCarthy a huge admirer of the commanding central defender.
McCarthy signed Stearman while he was in charge of Wolves and signed him on loan at Ipswich last season and he impressed during his stint at Portman Road.
The likes of Leeds and Bolton are also thought to be tracking Stearman, while Scottish champions Celtic are also understood to be keeping tabs on him.
Wolves look set to offer Stearman a new long-term deal, but they may struggle to match offers from elsewhere.
