Bolton have confirmed Jay Spearing will once again don the captain's armband for the club this season.
The former Liverpool midfielder, 25, had the honour bestowed on him in the previous campaign after he made a permanent move to Wanderers in August following a successful loan spell in the 2012-13 season.
Spearing's vice-captain will be central defender Matt Mills, who is embarking on his third season at the Sky Bet Championship club.
"We've built up many leaders in our current group, and Jay and Matt are two of the players who are at the forefront of what we're trying to do here," manager Dougie Freedman told Bolton's official website.
"They both have a very good feeling for this club and know what is required to step up and lead from the front."
