Bolton's Liam Trotter has been ruled out of action for up to 10 weeks with a hamstring injury.

The 26-year-old Wanderers midfielder sustained the injury during the midweek Capital One Cup win over Crewe and now faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

The results of a scan come as a bitter blow for Dougie Freedman's men, who face a trip to manager-less Leeds on Saturday.

"It's a blow for us," the former Crystal Palace boss told the club's official website.

"Liam was really beginning to find his stride and fitness.

"He's shown what a good player he is, though we do have a few other players who are able to play in that position."
