Reading defender Tennai Watson has signed a two-year deal with the Sky Bet Championship club.
The 19-year-old full-back, who has featured for the Under-21 side after coming through the academy at the Madejski Stadium, has recently joined the first team for training.
Manager Brian McDermott has named Watson on the bench in three of the last four first-team games after giving him squad number 43.
McDermott told the club's official website: "Tennai is one of a number of really good young players we have going forward, another product of our academy, another one of our own.
"I'm delighted he has signed a new deal with us."
