MILLERS GRIND DOWN MILLWALL'S LEAD

ROTHERHAM closed the gap on league leaders Millwall to four points after The Lions went down to a 2-1 defeat at Bury.

Goals from on-loan strikers Jon Newby and Colin Cramb (pictured) secured the points for The Shakers after Neil Harris had given Mark McGhee's side an early lead.

The Millers closed the lead at the top of the table after a comfortable 3-1 win at home to Bournemouth.

Walsall moved into third spot after an impressive 3-1 away win against Bristol City, whilst fellow promotion candidates Reading and Wigan could only manage 1-1 draws - The Royals grabbing a point away to Wycombe, whilst The Latics were held by Notts County at the JJB Stadium.

Lee Trundle's first hat-trick in league football was enough to secure the points for Wrexham as they overcame basement club Oxford United 5-3 in a topsy-turvy affair at The Racecourse Ground.

Luton grabbed a valuable late win at home to John Beck's Cambridge, and Northampton edged past Bristol Rovers by a narrow 2-1 margin.

Swindon dismissed Oldham 3-0 at The County Ground, while Brentford and Peterborough were both forced to settle for a point after playing out a 1-1 draw at London Road.
