Seagulls boss Steve Coppell predicted the clause would be activated last week with Martin Butler's departure to Rotherham and it means Royals boss Alan Pardew can call on Henderson to report back to The Madejski Stadium should they suffer a striker crisis.
Withdean boss Coppell declared on the club's official website that he was pleased with Henderson's contribution so far.
He said: "Darius has given us a physical presence we didn't have before and with him in the side I didn't feel as exposed as we were defending set pieces."
Henderson's prolongation of his Brighton stay means that Carl Wilson-Dennis and Daniel Marney's loan stay at Crawley Town are likely to be extended for a second month also, while Geoff Pitcher's month's loan at Stevenage ends this Saturday.
Meanwhile, The Royals have loaned young striker Andre Fashanu to Farnborough Town.
