The 24-year-old will take part in the club's pre-season training after enjoying a short spell with The Cherries in the 1998/99 season before joining Premiership side Southampton in a £170,000 move from Portuguese club Farense.
He spent most of last season in Greek football with Ionikos Piraeus before moving to League Two side Yeovil Town last March to finish the campaign.
O'Driscoll is keen to sign a striker after losing the services of Warren Feeney to League One rivals Stockport County.
"We were aware of Dani's availability whilst he was playing his football in Greece last season and could have approached him on transfer deadline in March," O'Driscoll told the club's official website.
"But as ever, finance was an issue and Dani joined Yeovil Town where he proved to be very successful.
"Dani has been invited in for pre-season and hopefully can prove to be a valuable addition to our squad."
Rodrigues is joined at Dean Court by another trialist in defender Gary Middleton, who was recently released by Reading.
The 19-year-old made reserve team appearances for The Cherries towards the end of last season.
"Gary is a left-sided defender and they are few and far between, so we have invited him in to assess the situation fully over pre-season," O'Driscoll added.
One player that will not be joining the club is non-league striker Andy Forbes.
The Winchester City hit-man, who scored 76 goals for the club last term, was unable to agree terms for a move into League football with Bournemouth.
Despite not ruling out the possibility of signing the 25-year-old, O'Driscoll revealed that a deal had been put on ice for the moment.
"Unfortunately, the move has fallen through due to a number of factors, in particular Andy's work commitments and the fact we were unable to secure a satisfactory agreement with Winchester," O'Driscoll said.
"Andy had been due to join us for pre-season training. But although both Andy and Winchester have been extremely helpful, and the situation could be resurrected in the future, it will not happen at the moment."
Yeovil have also invited Forbes to train with them this pre-season.
