The England Under-21 international led The Robins with 29 goals last season and his prowess has seen the 20-year-old linked with moves away from Ashton Gate.
Championship side Reading were linked with the talented youngster while Robins chief executive Colin Sexstone confirmed that Burnley had made an enquiry about Lita's availability.
Despite the links, Lita insists his mind is on the forthcoming League One campaign with the West Country club and he is relishing the chance to play alongside Stewart.
"I don't take any notice of transfer rumours," Lita told the club's official website.
"I am a Bristol City player and that's how I expect it to stay.
"I expect to be here when the season starts and all my focus is on getting a good pre-season under my belt.
"Having a player of Marcus's experience here will be a help to all the players and I want to learn from him.
"I'm sure I could play alongside him. He has great touch and the knowledge that comes from playing at top level."
