Bristol City have agreed an undisclosed fee with Reading for striker Leroy Lita.Bristol City have agreed an undisclosed fee with Championship side Reading for striker Leroy Lita.
The 20-year-old has been a long-term target of Royals boss Steve Coppell after the former Ashton Gate trainee led the League One club with 29 goals last season.
Lita's goalscoring prowess earned him England Under-21 honours back in February, not to mention the attention of several clubs.
The Robins confirmed recently that fellow Championship side Burnley had enquired about the youngster's availability.
Lita himself had expected to start the campaign with Brian Tinnion's side, but the West Country club announced on Monday evening that they have given Reading permission to speak with the striker this week.
"We have been in extensive talks with Bristol City over the past few weeks, and I am very pleased that we have now reached the stage where a transfer fee has been agreed," Reading's director of football Nicky Hammond told the club's official website.
It remains to be seen if The Royals agree terms with Lita, but it now seems likely that the youngster is set to continue his career at The Madejski Stadium.
