Shane Long rescued Reading with an 88th minute equaliser against Derby.
Substitute Shane Long rescued Reading's 26-match unbeaten Championship record from the jaws of defeat with an 88th minute equaliser in a 2-2 draw at Derby.
The league leaders had looked to be down and out after a double from Seth Johnson but the dismissal of the hosts' defender Andrew Davies gave the visitors renewed hope.
The Rams went in front in the 32nd minute when Johnson crashed in Tommy Smith's cross but the lead lasted little more than 90 seconds.
The Royals called on all their resolve and immediately restored parity when Kevin Doyle glanced a header beyond Lee Camp in the home side's goal.
Unbowed Derby pressed in the second half and, after good work from Danny Graham and Adam Bolder, Johnson scored his second goal of the match with a superb 20-yard volley into the bottom corner.
However the match was turned on its head by Davies's dismissal for a second bookable offence and The Royals sensed a second comeback was on the cards.
Chances came and went for the visitors but eventually the pressure told and Long earned a point for his side when he bundled in a close-range header.
