Harry ready for Distin

Harry Redknapp has again confirmed he will be in the market for Sylvain Distin.

Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp has again confirmed he will be in the market for Sylvain Distin - should he leave Manchester City this summer.

The French defender is out of contract at the end of the season and has thus far shunned all City's offers of a new deal.

Distin is widely expected to depart the City of Manchester Stadium in June and Portsmouth look set to make a concerted effort for his signature.

"I like Sylvain. He's got great pace, is good in the air, has a good left foot and is a quality player," said Redknapp.

"He will go somewhere else when he's out of contract in the summer."

Meanwhile, while City look as if they could lose Distin - manager Stuart Pearce is looking at potential arrivals.

And one name that appears near the top of the list is Leroy Lita.

The Reading striker really caught Pearce's eye with both goals in The Royals' 2-0 win over City last month.

As part of his new England Under 21 role, Pearce also got the chance to work in close proximity with Lita this week and a move for the former Bristol City striker appears likely.
