Reading's Adam Federici is already dreaming of playing his Australia team-mates.
Reading's FA Cup hero Adam Federici is already dreaming of meeting up with his Australian international team-mates, should his side dispense of Manchester United in a replay at The Madejski Stadium and Middlesbrough do likewise at West Brom.
A 1-1 draw at Old Trafford saw Federici more than play his part in an exceptional performance from a Reading side primarily made up of those on the periphery of Steve Coppell's first team.
Should Reading win through in the replay then Federici, on the proviso that he retains his place, could line-up against both Mark Schwarzer and Mark Viduka - if Boro do likewise at The Hawthorns.
"That would be my ideal choice. It would be an exciting match, playing against two great heroes of Australian football," said Federici.
"Viduka is a great guy and a typical Aussie. He's a very strong and powerful player and if he gets a chance on goal he usually takes it.
"Steve Coppell has shown a lot of faith in me when I needed someone to give me a chance. I feel like I have come through for him in a way."
While dislodging Marcus Hahnemann as Reading's first choice is his immediate priority, Federici also has his sights on international recognition.
"To take over from Mark Schwarzer as Australia's number one is one of my biggest goals, and hopefully it'll happen in the near future.
"I want to show people I can play at this level and I think I've done that so far. Hopefully I'll be playing in the Premiership more regularly in the near future."
