James Harper, Shane Long and Ivar Ingimarsson have signed on at Reading.Reading have agreed new contracts with first-team players James Harper, Shane Long and Ivar Ingimarsson.
Fans' player of the year Ingimarsson (pictured) and midfielder Harper have signed on until 2010, with Republic of Ireland international Long committing himself to the club until 2011.
The Premier League club have also confirmed that youngsters Simon Cox, Aaron Brown, Scott Davies and Ben Hamer have all signed one-year extensions to their current deals.
Director of football Nicky Hammond has welcomed the decision of the three key players to sign on at The Madejski Stadium.
"As Steve Coppell has said, one of our biggest jobs this summer is to secure the futures of our existing players, and these deals are an important part of that process which will continue in the coming weeks," Hammond told the club's official website.
"This [Harper] is a really important signing for us.
"With some players you don't realise how good they are until they're not there, but fortunately Harps will remain with us for the next three years.
"Ivar had an outstanding season and fully merited the player of the year award."
Hammond added in relation to Long's new deal: "I am absolutely delighted to secure the signature of one of the most exciting young talents in the Premier League for a further four years.
"The progress he's made in such a short space of time since joining us has been phenomenal."
