Doyle - We must build on win

'Shock win will mean nothing unless results improve'

Kevin Doyle has called on his Reading team-mates to prove that their Liverpool result was no fluke. The shock 3-1 win ended Liverpool's unbeaten start to the season, and was the first time that the Royals had beaten top-four opposition since their promotion to the Premier League in 2006. The victory was also Reading's first win in five games, and has helped ease them away from the relegation battle. Doyle, who notched his fifth goal of the season in Saturday's success, is now desperate for the club to build on the impressive result when they travel to St Andrews to face Birmingham this weekend.

Nothing to lose

"Usually when we play the top teams we seem to change our game and worry about them but this time we played 4-4-2, had nothing to lose and it worked out for us," he said. "Not many other sides will beat a top-four team and so it's a massive bonus, but it's no good if we don't pick up points in the next few weeks. We were not playing well before this."
