Reading defender set to face further punishment following red card

The Football Association has confirmed that Reading defender Andre Bikey has been charged with improper conduct. The charge relates to the 24-year-old's behaviour after he was shown a straight red card in the Championship play-off semi-final first leg at Burnley. The centre-half has already been banned for four games for his stamp on Clarets striker Robbie Blake but now faces further punishment for his strop as he left the pitch. The Cameroon international threw his shirt on the floor and had to be ushered from the pitch by team-mate Marcus Hahnemann. "The charge relates to Bikey's conduct during the Championship play-off semi-final first-leg against Burnley," an FA statement read. "A regulatory commission will hear the case on Thursday 21st May." As a result of the red card Bikey missed the Royals' 2-0 defeat in the second leg at the Madejski Stadium on Tuesday and will subsequently miss the first three games of the next season, although the centre-half has since apologised to Royals fans for his behaviour.
