Carabao Cup round-up: Accrington shock Preston

The EFL Carabao Cup is seen during the first draw for the upcoming season's EFL Cup football tournament at Tawandaeng brewery in Bangkok on June 16, 2017.

Accrington Stanley produced the upset of the Carabao Cup first round as they dumped Championship Preston out with a hard-fought 3-2 win at the Wham Stadium thanks to Billy Kee's last-minute strike.

The Lancashire side took the lead through Ben Richards-Everton after 20 minutes and were ahead for 50 further minutes until Jordan Hugill levelled up proceedings. Jordan Clark looked to have won it for Stanley with just four minutes left, only for Hugill to strike again with 90 minutes up.

However, there was still time for substitute Kee to find a winner, converting Tom Dallison's cross to secure a memorable victory.

Che Adams netted a hat-trick as Birmingham swept into the second round with a 5-1 win over Crawley.

David Davis and substitute Robert Tesche were also on target while Panutche Camara netted a late consolation for Crawley.
