Redknapp eyeing more bargains

PORTSMOUTH boss Harry Redknapp says he is looking to follow up his capture of Teddy Sheringham with more bargain signings, and has made a goalkeeper his number one priority.

With Patrik Berger, Dejan Stefanovic, Boris Zivkovic and now former England striker Sheringham on board, Redknapp says he is still looking to bring in more players, with another Bosman free Jody Morris also being touted, as he aims to ensure the Fratton Park side survive in their first Premiership campaign.

"I am looking to find a goalkeeper, that's the main priority," said the Pompey boss.

"Jody (Morris) is a terrific Bosman free transfer and we're still looking around for new players.

"The main priority is a goalkeeper. We've got Shaka Hislop, but you need two good goalkeepers at this level.

"I've picked up bargains as I've always had to in my football career.

"I'm not in a position to spend £5 million on players like Harry Kewell and people like that."
