Sander Westerveld's agent has dismissed rumours Burnley have targeted his client.
Sander Westerveld's agent has poured cold water on rumours Burnley are considering a move for the out-of-favour Portsmouth goalkeeper.
Clarets manager Steve Cotterill is scouring the loan market as he looks to add depth to a position depleted by Danny Coyne's long-term injury and Brian Jensen's forthcoming suspension.
But Westerveld is not one of Cotterill's targets, at least according to the player's agent, Ton van Dalen.
Van Dalen concedes that Westerveld is far from content at Fratton Park but revealed that no transfer is imminent.
"He's not happy because he's not playing but the season is far from over so I don't think [Westerveld will leave]," said van Dalen.
"I've heard nothing about [Burnley's reported interest]. Someone would have phoned me to tell me so I don't believe that."
The former Liverpool goalkeeper joined Pompey from Real Sociedad in the summer but after starting the first four games of the season has been unable to displace the in-form Jamie Ashdown.
