Colins Mbesuma could be set for his first start of the season against Liverpool.Colins Mbesuma is in the running to make his first start of the season when Portsmouth face Liverpool on Saturday week.
The Zambian striker, who signed from South African side Kaizer Chiefs in the summer, has had to wait for his chance after manager Alain Perrin deemed him overweight when he arrived at Fratton Park.
Perrin will choose between Mbesuma and fit-again Norwegian striker Azar Karadas for the striker's role.
"One of them will start. It is between the two," said Perrin.
"Both are ready now. Karadas has had a hamstring problem. Now I am going to see in training who is best ready to play against Liverpool," he added.
They are both being considered because of a striker shortage at Fratton Park for the clash at Anfield.
Dario Silva is on international duty for Uruguay in their World Cup play off against Australia and will be jet-lagged after a 24 hour flight next Thursday, Svetoslav Todorov will be too tired after two games for Bulgaria in Perrin's opinion and Lomana Lualua is still getting his match fitness back after recovering from malaria.
