Harry Redknapp will continue to look abroad for new Portsmouth signings.Harry Redknapp will continue to look abroad for new Portsmouth signings, despite his concern over the language barrier.
With the transfer window approaching, Redknapp is anxious to strengthen his squad as he looks to keep Pompey in The Premiership.
Pompey have recently had Poland international Emmanuel Olisadebe on trial, while they are also interested in Turkish hot shot Fatih Tekke.
And though Redknapp has stressed the need for people to speak the lingo, he has a preference for bringing in players with European experience.
"I'm looking to bring in players who have played in Europe, who understand the game and who know what hard work means," said Redknapp.
The Portsmouth boss expanded on the communication problems which are currently playing havoc with his survival plans.
Redknapp brought on Colombian midfielder John Viafara as a substitute against West Ham on Boxing Day and admits the player did not understand his instructions.
He added: "It's a crazy situation. We've got three people who can't speak English. You can't even tell them what to do.
"I bring on a boy (Viafara) and tell him to mark the near post space at a corner. He runs on and goes somewhere else because he doesn't speak a word of English.
"What are you supposed to do, draw diagrams for 20 minutes?"
